New Year, New Yard

The new year brings with it new opportunities and resolutions.  Maybe one of your new year resolutions is to spend more time outside, to plant a garden for the first time, or to renovate your existing garden. We want to help you achieve those resolutions by offering three incredible design ideas for 2020. Even though it’s still winter-time in East Texas, you can start getting ready for your warmer weather activities by planning your yard design for the new year.

Bring the indoors outdoors 

One way to spend more time outside is to create an outdoor area that is an extension of your home. Consider making your patio or backyard area cozy by building an open-air room or pergola that makes your outdoor space feel like a room beyond your house. Include decorative patio furniture,such as sofas and cushioned chairs, and comfy pillows to brighten the space and make it feel cozy. You might also incorporate an outdoor kitchen or fireplace into the outdoor space to create a fun area for guests and family gatherings. Vertical Gardening

Vertical gardens draw attention to specific areas or plants in your garden and provide shape and texture that is visually interesting. These gardens can be designed indoors or outdoors!

One small but effective way to re-invent your outdoor space is to add landscape lighting. Consider adding LED lighting along your walkways, in and around your flower beds, or in your outdoor patio area to add dimension and draw attention to the space.
