Does my Sprinkler System Need to be Automatic?
Does my Sprinkler System Need to be Automatic?

Installing a new sprinkler system is a huge undertaking. As such, many homeowners and businesses want to make sure they get exactly what they want in an installation. But not everything is optional.

Irrigation in Texas is regulated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The TCEQ requires all installations to be up to your city’s code, and all installers to be licensed. Furthermore, the TCEQ has mandated that all new or repaired sprinkler system be installed with an automatic controller.

Some older sprinklers still in use that have not been updated may still be completely manual. This is acceptable, but it must be updated upon repair or replacement.

Automatic controllers still allow for manual operation and preferences, but there must be an automatic controller. These controllers ultimately save you money by maintaining even water distribution on a regular schedule. Furthermore, all of Petty’s automatic controllers and irrigation systems are equipped with devices which sense rainfall and override the system programming in the event of sufficient rainfall.

Petty’s Irrigation, Landscape & Pest Control ensures that its irrigation staff is licensed by the TCEQ and that all installations are up to local code. We utilize the highest-quality components for your sprinkler system, engineered to give you years of trouble-free service.

We’d love to install a smart irrigation system for your residential or commercial property that you’ll love.
